Tiggy Beaman (b. 1997) is a contemporary artist whose work explores and celebrates the female nude. After earning a degree in Fine Art from Loughborough University, she was awarded a fellowship with The Artists’ Benevolent Fund (2020–2021).
Beaman's practice centers on themes of body confidence and self-acceptance, aiming to challenge the traditional sexualization of the nude in art. She collaborates closely with her models to create deeply personal and empowering paintings that instill confidence in her subjects.
Working primarily in oil paint, Beaman employs bold color palettes and abstracted mark-making to create dynamic, engaging compositions. Inspired by individual personalities and her fascination with the human form, she states:
"As a woman painting other women, my work is inherently personal. My relationships with my subjects run deeper, allowing me to connect with and reflect on the struggles women face regarding body image in contemporary society and social media."
Since November 2022, Beaman has been traveling the world while working as a deckhand aboard superyachts. This experience has exposed her to new cultures, landscapes, and perspectives, profoundly influencing her artistic journey. Her upcoming body of work will be inspired by this transformative period at sea, capturing the essence of travel, exploration, and self-discovery.
